As in previous years, CUPS seeks your
help as families face the coming, cold winter
months with donations of blankets and winter wear
like sweatshirts. It seems hard to think of
families suffering the cold in their humble homes
with no heat and inadequate construction as we
still face the summer heat of over 100 degrees in
our area of mission service - Valle Hermoso, Rio
Bravo and Matamoros. The young and the elderly are
particularly vulnerable to the cold weather of
winter.

donation location for other arrangements.
Another
Year in School
School in Mexico began on August
18. Many CUPS' friends sent and continue to
send supplies to support families with children in
school. CUPS is so grateful to all the
donors who made this this yearly effort possible.
We only wish you too could see the happy faces of
the children not to mention hear the words of
appreciation from parents and teachers.
Children work at part time jobs, like washing
windows of cars or pickup trucks or sacking
groceries to earn money for schooling, promising
their parents that they will continue their
studies. Many parents use pawn shops to
raise money for the educational cost for their
children

25
Years of Service
CUPS began our mission work in Mexico
25 years ago. Our appreciation goes out to
the many people that have made this journey of
faith and service possible, and to those who wrote
offering congratulations for our mission work in
June 2014. The first CUPS' project built a home
for a family in the small rural community of Villa
Cardenas in March of 2000 and our most recent
activity was to travel to two rural communities to
distribute school supplies to 167
children.

hungry
We ask all to continue to pray for our
Mexican neighbors and for the mission work carried
out by CUPS in Mexico.
Mission
Trips in 2015
Bring your faith and love to
South Texas communities in June
of 2015. CUPS will be working with
ARISE and Rio Grande Valley PET during this time
and invites mission teams to come down and spend
special time with these organizations and the
border communities. Four days mission trips will
allow mission team members to work with RGV PET
making carts for those who cannot walk and working
at two different colonia sites around McAllen,
Texas with 2-hour morning and afternoon vacation
bible school sessions. Mission teams can stay at a
local motel with reasonable rates and a swimming
pool or at a local church, using the church
kitchen to prepare meals. Ages from middle school
to adults with maximum of ten participants each
day working at RGV PET and fifteen at the VBS
sites. Cost: $4200. For more information and to
make your reservation by November 1, 2014, call
